Shimmy and Shine 2023

Shimmy and Shine 2023 marked the second edition of the festival and a bold new step forward.This time, I chose to take a much bigger leap and host the event on the Main Stage of Smock Alley Theatre. It was a significant risk, as the space was considerably larger and carried greater responsibility, but it also represented growth, trust, and belief in what we were building together.

With the unwavering support of my students, the event once again became a great success. Their commitment, encouragement, and trust gave me the confidence to take this step. They performed beautifully on stage, with strength, artistry, and professionalism, and I could not have been prouder of them.

Shimmy and Shine 2023 was not only a successful event, but a powerful moment of collective achievement proof that when passion, dedication, and community come together, something truly special is created.
